Alex Park serves as a gateway to downtown Rochester, connecting some of Rochester’s most popular streets including Park, East, and Monroe Avenues

The area is surrounded by numerous restaurants, cafés, bars, salons, and shops. The neighborhood has recently seen significant property renovation – becoming a seamless blend of old Victorian homes and new construction – just a stone’s throw from downtown Rochester.

Neighborhood Development Plan

Alex Park is a mixed-use development taking place on a sixteen-acre site at the gateway to Downtown Rochester, NY on Alexander Street.

The first phase of the mixed-use project involved redevelopment of a 400,000 square foot former hospital campus into offices and retail, along with the construction of a new 80,000 square foot Class A office building, a 20,000 square foot medical office building, and a free-standing Canandaigua National Bank branch.

The northern end of the development site is currently being developed with new construction. Central Rock Gym, a 20,000 square foot rock climbing gym opened in February 2019. The 20,000 square foot facility features 45-foot-tall climbing areas and 300 linear feet of bouldering wall. Central Rock Gym operates thirteen locations in the northeast.

Mindex Technologies opened in November 2019 within a new 48,000 square foot mixed-use building at the northwest corner of the site. A Rochester Top 100 Company, Mindex employs over 100 people, providing project management consultation. Upper floors of this building include 48 luxury residential units featuring private balconies.

Future construction includes over 200 new modern apartments, along with additional mixed-use space, and a new parking garage.
